Notes

  • The EN 420:2003 hand size table (sizes 6 to 11) is carried into EN ISO 21420, which replaced EN 420. Wenaas's EN ISO 21420 summary adds sizes 4, 5, 12 and 13 by hand circumference; for those it gives hand length only as under 160 mm (4, 5) or over 215 mm (12, 13), so length is null there.
  • Minimum glove length (220 to 270 mm) comes from the EN 420:2003 table on Granberg. Wenaas says EN ISO 21420 does not specify minimum glove lengths (some application standards, such as welding, do). So the minimum length is EN 420:2003 only.
  • How to measure (standard table): Reflexx says to wrap a flexible tape around the widest part of the hand, around the palm. Neither standards summary read here describes how to measure hand length; the WC Safety guide says from the tip of the middle finger to the wrist crease at the base of the palm.
  • Disagreement: Reflexx lists size 11 / XXL as 297 mm hand circumference; Granberg and Wenaas give 279 mm. 279 is used; 297 looks like a transposition.
  • Disagreement: WC Safety's 'EN 420' table shifts every circumference up one size (size 6 = 178 mm, size 11 = 305 mm) and gives hand lengths 201 and 211 mm for sizes 10 and 11 (standards summaries: 204 and 215). It is not used for the standard table.
