Shoe size chart
A 10 inch (254 mm) foot is a US men's 8, a US women's 9 and a UK 7 under the ISO/TS 19407 conversion. Measure your foot to get your size in every system; brands still vary by up to half a size.

How the systems relate
- Brands vary. These are standard or typical conversions, not a guarantee for any one shoe model.
- ISO/TS 19407 conversion (as summarised on Wikipedia) derives adult sizes from foot length plus an allowance of two sizes; it is the basis for the iso tables and formulas below.
Shoe width chart
Width letters run from narrow to wide. A plain D is the standard width for men and a plain B for women, so the same name means a different letter: Brooks lists men's medium as D and women's medium as B.
| Width | Men's | Women's |
|---|---|---|
| Narrow | B | 2A |
| Medium / normal | D | B |
| Wide | 2E | D |
| Extra wide | 4E | 2E |
| Order | Letter | Also written | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | AAAA | 4A | narrowest on the Brannock scale (Wikipedia, Brannock Device) |
| 2 | AAA | 3A | |
| 3 | AA | 2A | |
| 4 | A | ||
| 5 | B | standard for women | |
| 6 | C | ||
| 7 | D | standard for men | |
| 8 | E | ||
| 9 | EE | 2E | |
| 10 | EEE | 3E | |
| 11 | EEEE | 4E | widest on the Brannock scale (Wikipedia, Brannock Device) |
Each step between width letters is about 3/16 in (4.8 mm) according to Wikipedia's shoe size article, and the same letter gets a little wider as the length goes up, so a width letter is not a fixed measurement.

Questions
What size shoe is a 10 inch foot?
Under the ISO/TS 19407 conversion a 10 in (254 mm) foot is a UK 7, US men's 8 and US women's 9 (FIA scale), and EU 40.5 on the ISO table (the formula gives 40.1, and the table rounds up to the next half size).
How do I convert US men's to women's shoe sizes?
On the industry (FIA) scale women's is men's plus 1. Some brands use plus 1.5 instead (Nike does), so check the brand's own chart.
What is Mondopoint?
The foot length in millimeters (ISO 9407). It is used for ski boots and military footwear because it does not depend on any shoe last.
Why does my size differ between brands?
Sizes are marked on the last (the form the shoe is built on), not the foot, and each brand chooses its own allowance and shape.
