A rider of 5 ft 10 in (178 cm) and 160 to 185 lb fits a board of about 150 to 162 cm on evo's chart. Weight matters more than height, because weight is what flexes the board.

Snowboard width by boot size
If your boots hang too far over the edges they drag in turns, so bigger feet need a wider waist.

Height or weight first?
Use the weight column first, then check the height. If the two disagree, go with the weight range, then shorten a little for park riding or lengthen a little for powder, as the shop guides suggest. This is a starting range; boards from different makers flex differently.

What size snowboard for my height?
On evo's chart, 5 ft 6 in (168 cm) maps to about 145 to 160 cm and 6 ft (183 cm) to about 152 to 164 cm. Check the weight column too.
Is snowboard size based on height or weight?
Both, but weight matters more, because it is what flexes the board.
Do I need a wide snowboard?
If you wear a US men's boot of about 10.5 or larger (women's 11.5+), evo points you to a waist of 255 mm or more so your boots do not drag.
