Size comparison: compare the size of anything

Compare the size of anything, side by side and to scale: a person next to a blue whale, the Eiffel Tower next to the Burj Khalifa, Earth next to the Sun. Every size on the board comes from a cited source, and any board saves as a size comparison chart (PNG) or a share link.

        How to compare size online

Everything stands on the same floor and uses the same scale, shown by the ruler. People and towers are drawn by their height, whales, ships and planes by their length, planets by their diameter. The number under each thing is the sourced figure; the drawing around it is a simple silhouette.

When something is far bigger than everything else, the small things shrink to dots. Tap the small thing and press Zoom to selected to blow the board up around it; the giant goes off the top with an arrow and its size.

If two sources give different sizes (common for animals), we show the typical figure on the board and the range in the table on the category page.

        Questions

How do I compare the size of two things?

Pick them from the list on the right (or search), and they appear side by side on the same scale. Tap one to draw a line at its height across the board.

Where do the sizes come from?

Each category page lists every item with its source: NOAA and NPS for animals, NASA for planets, makers for vehicles, official sites and surveys for buildings and mountains, and published specs for everyday objects.

        Can I add myself?

Yes. Enter a name and height under Add yourself and you appear on the board next to everything else.
